At the time of the 1980 Olympics in Moscow for political reasons, purportedly over the USSR's involvement in Afghanistan, Margaret Thatcher urged athletes not to compete in the Moscow Olympics and supporters to boycott the Games. One of the athletes who defied this advice was Sebastian Coe, who won a gold medal in the 1500 metres. I defied the advice too and went to Moscow where I was treated extremely well. Thatcher did not ban athletes from competing, she just advised them not to go.
The same Sebastian Coe who defied Thatcher has now, as President of the IAAF, spoiled the dreams of athletes, who like him in 1980, have been training for life for this opportunity. It is clearly a political decision and has nothing to do with the few athletes of all nations who choose to cheat by using performance-enhancing drugs. Sadly politics has ruined sport and sportsmanship as I demonstrated in my last post.
Ever since the west set up a puppet-government in Ukraine and imposed sanctions against Russia for following the wishes of the population of Crimea and its alleged military involvement in the civil-war started by Poroshenko, the west has not missed an opportunity to try to punish Russia. Blame Russia. Blame Putin. These are the slogans on the lips of every MSM mouthpiece.
It disturbs me that my country, and other western countries, have gone down the same road as Adolf Hitler in his attitude towads black and non-Aryan people including non-Aryan athletes. Thankfully Hitler was put in his place and Jesse Owens returned to the US with four gold medals only to be snubbed by President Roosevelt. Racism against blacks was the bigotry of the day replaced today by persecution of Muslims. The west in its xenophobic hatred of Russians is no different from Hitler in his belief that Aryans were superior, except he did not ban Jesse Owens from competing.
Sebastian Coe, no angel himself and in the middle of several corruption scandals, should be ashamed of himself for toadying to the US/UK attempts to discredit Russia. The US economy is on its last legs and this is a cynical diversionary tactic. As a lad I used to run, I was never any good, at the various clubs in the West Riding including Hallamshire (where Coe ran). Coe should think back to those days and all the work he put in building up the speed and stamina that made his dream come true. Then he should consider what this stupid decision of the IAAF has done to crush the dreams of good honest Russian athletes. Nobody from Russia will compete under any flag but Russian.
Can somebody with the knowledge please start a petition to support Russian athletes? I'll link it here and spread it. Thanks.

Soccer: England did not deserve victory against Russia
Follow @JohnPlatinumG
What alarmed me with this page was the top story under Headlines: MH17 Prosecutors want Russian answers. Remember this is a sports page. It is concerned with Ukraine and its match against Germany. But the first headline is reinforcing a meme which the BBC, and other mainstream outlets, have adopted as their mantra - blame Russia, blame Putin. They have perpetuated this ever since the western-sponsored coup to remove the legitimately-elected government of Ukraine. Click the link and you can learn how certain Australian lawyers are trying to get compensation for MH17 victims - nothing to do with football, nothing to do with Europe.
The irony here is that Russia is being called upon to provide evidence about the shooting down of MH17. Russia was the first to provide evidence. Countries withholding evidence are the USA (its alleged satellite images) and Ukraine (its air-traffic control records for the day). Not that that will bother the BBC which used to have some credibility but has sold itself so far down the road of perfidy there can be no turning back. In Ukraine for months before the coup the BBC covered street protests on the Maidan. When the overthrow took place and Poroshenko started a civil-war in which 10,000 have been killed the BBC virtually clammed up.
With street-fighting back in the international football frame, and FIFA threatening to ban Russia and England from the tournament because of fan behaviour, it is time to take a measured response to what is happening. Not all football followers are fanatical. Not all regular match-goers are fanatical. I enjoy watching a game of football myself and I agree it can get emotional. Drumming up hatred is something the mainstream media should not be doing. It should instead present unbiased politics-free sport. But even in the sport itself there is blatant disinformation.
Then came the so-called foul that led to England's goal. While England had been pressing it was becoming ever more evident they would not score from open play. In the 72nd minute Dele Alli ran into Georgy Shchennikov instead of around him. For some unaccountable reason, and right on the edge of the box, the referee penalised Shchennikov, yellow-carded him, and awarded a free kick in a very dangerous position. The goal that followed was superbly executed from a set-piece.
I thought at the time that it was never a foul. But ITV1 continued as though it was. No replay of the 'foul' was shown, and even after the match, when the talking heads summed up a match that Hodgson claimed should have been a victory but seemed more like a defeat because of Russia's late equaliser from open play there was still no replay. Because I did not believe it was a foul I tried in vain to get footage of the 'foul'. Google is crap. In the end I had to go to a Russian broadcasting station, Вести, to see the alleged foul. You can judge for yourselves. It starts three and a half minutes in. However many times I have watched this it is not a foul in my eyes. But the deceit, this time ITV1, is what most concerns me. As with the BBC over the non-reporting of the Ukrainian civil war they indulged in what Catholics call a sin of omission.
The BBC, politics, sport and lies
Mainstream media has a lot to answer for in the way it propagandises everything: including sport. There used to be a policy to try and keep politics out of sport. But when the main defaulter in this policy is the BBC it is little wonder that the fans follow their lead. This is a page I came across when trying to select which matches I wanted to watch. It relates to promoting last night's match between Germany and Ukraine. What alarmed me with this page was the top story under Headlines: MH17 Prosecutors want Russian answers. A dubious foul that led to England's goal
I watched the England-Russia match (ITV1) with interest and am pleased to say that England had much more possession, especially in the first half, and more scoring opportunitites. That is not to say the Russian defence was shoddy, just that England were good. They passed well and showed the speed a young side should be able to show. Russia defended most of the attacks well and even put one or two together themselves. Then came the so-called foul that led to England's goal. While England had been pressing it was becoming ever more evident they would not score from open play. In the 72nd minute Dele Alli ran into Georgy Shchennikov instead of around him. Popularity by visits

Two years ago I listed the three most popular blog-posts during that year. I have decided to do the same again for the last twelve months but instead of three this year just the single most popular. This is because the most popular piece by far was the downing of MH17 which took more hits than any other blog-post I have written and almost four times as many as the next most popular piece.
Russian Satellite Evidence
It is strange that the United States, which clearly has satellite images has not released its information even now. Perhaps, as with the weapons of mass destruction evidence for justifying the Iraq war, they are still manufacturing it.
My most popular article for News Junkie Post also concerned Ukraine. I suspect the popularity of Ukrainian news items has more to do with the fact that our media has just not been reporting the true state of affairs.
Ukraine and Crimea's Vanishing Gold
Finally, I have started a new blog about bird stories called 'Tales of Wings and Feathers', which contains my Christmas story of Malinovka.
Tales of Wings and Feathers
Here is wishing everybody peace for 2015.

Search engines are useless today - fighter jet brought down MH17
Follow @JohnPlatinumG
This, as well as being my late father's birthday, is the 100th anniversary of the First World War. Although there is nobody around who can remember this it has been the big story of all the major western news channels. It is a glorification to prepare young men (and women) to die for politicians and Bilderbergers in the forthcoming war.
I've tried Google, Yahoo, Dogpile and DuckDuckGo without any luck trying to locate the report that it was most likely a Ukrainian fighter jet that deliberately it would seem brought down MH17. If I had not known about this article being a Global Research article I would not have been able to find it. You see, it does not fit in with US/NATO narratives which aim to take us into another world war from which it is unlikely many will survive. Search engines, which used to be so reliable, are pretty well useless sources of truth today.
The US and UK news channels push one line, that it was shot down by a BUK missile. The Ukrainian government has refused to release air-traffic data of that fatal day. Instead it has pumped misinformation into the public domain at an alarming rate with the complicity of the US and its brothel of media whores all aimed at discrediting Russia and President Putin. It has further used this false information to bring punitive measures against the Russian economy and its people.
That report by Global Research was not the first. An air-traffic controller in Ukraine mentioned about, not one but two fighter jets accompanying the ill-fated passenger plane. Bloggers were also distributing pictures of the wreckage and arguing that it had been brought down by a fighter jet.

UKIP - The half human face of racism and Petro (Pyotr) Poroshenko
Follow @JohnPlatinumG
Nigel Farage has been inteviewed on BBC (0700) News and finished the interview by saying "you will be seeing less of me in the future". If you believe it, and think like me, you will be thinking thank God for that. This right-wing stitched-on grin has never been off our screens, well captured in this short video. In the European elections UKIP has made significant gains as has the extreme right all over Europe, showing an unwelcome trend, for those of us who have campaigned against racism all our lives. When Farage was a Conservative he was to the far right of a party that contains such racists as Theresa May. She, and the Conservatives in general, are largely responsible for the rise in UKIP's increase in 10 European seats to 23 overall with one or two seats still to be counted. In the vilification of Muslims, homage to our US masters, she has given racism a half-human face.
Farage as recently as1998 referred to blacks as "niggers" and "nig-nogs" but now denies he ever said it. He clearly did. Professor Alan Sked, who founded UKIP, did not want this kind of racism for the party and reported Farage's racist remarks to the press. Farage threatened through his lawyers to sue Sked, but never went through with it, showing that he knew in his heart that Sked was right. This makes him a liar, which is not unique to UKIP politicians of course, but Farage has shown he is quite prepared to lie to convert the gullible to what has now become a right-wing nationalist party before with his highly inflated immigration projections about a flood of Romanians and Bulgarians which did not occur. This hyperbole is reminiscent of the rhetoric of former racist, Enoch Powell, with his 'rivers of blood' speech.
This week Prince Charles compared Vladimir Putin to Adolph Hitler. Yes, Putin is popular, but there has been no recent history of Russian imperialism or land grabs, though you would not believe this watching mainstream media, which portrays the legitimate home-based referendum in Crimea as a Russian invasion. The other referenda in Ukraine in the Donetsk and other Eastern regions took place under the duress of an army blockade even though Putin asked the electorate not to go ahead, hardly the action of a dictator. He was ignored. Eventually I see these regions becoming part of the Russian Federation. It will be portrayed as an invasion in our press.
In Ukraine since February there has been a lot of western-promoted riots which have put the country in chaos. Yesterday they too had an election. Putin has said he would work with anybody elected who was not a criminal. This seems to mean he will work with Petro Poroshenko who appears to have convincingly won the election there, but would not have been prepared to work with Yulia Timoshenko, who was the other front-runner. She, until the riots in Kiev which installed an illegal government, was serving a prison sentence for embezzlement and corruption. Surprisingly this Poroshenko victory has not been reported on the BBC yet. Poroshenko has talked peace so it needs to be seen if he keeps his word. What this may mean is that the eastern regions will be ceded to the Russian Federation, even if that means another referendum first. He has also talked of believing in a united Ukraine. In this result the west, who have pumped millions of dollars in pushing for regime-change, will be most disappointed, though Poroshenko allegedly has business interests in the west as well as in Russia.
So it would appear the Ukraine, which has recently seen racism showing all its many ugly faces, has voted against the illegal government that took over Ukraine. Beware that Farage's rise in power does not lead to a tsunami of racist riots. There is a tradition of fighting against racism from good people everywhere. If Nigel Farage ever came to power it would spell disaster. As it is they have not got a single seat in Westminster. Farage predicts that at the next General election UKIP will win parliamentary seats. That being so, keep a weather eye on this unwelcome surge.
Update on the Proshenko election:
The election of Poroshenko appears to have undergone some electronic anomalies and it may be referred back to a count. The right sector fascists, responsible for the deaths of many people in Odessa, which has taken over the Ukraine secret services (SUB), has apparently detected a bug, which may lead to a manual recount. It makes one want to ask if Karl Rove is in charge. Poroshenko is thought to have more than the 55% of votes necessary to take office. However the west wanted Timoshenko, who only polled about 12% in a low turnout, to win. Otherwise their investment in creating a failed state will be lost.

What they are not telling you
Follow @JohnPlatinumG
My latest article concentrates on what the mainstream media is not telling us about Ukraine. It began a few weeks back with a leak featuring Victoria Nuland who had declared the US hand by backing the fascist government that has taken over in Kiev. In a recording on which the press concentrated on Nuland's choice phrase "Fuck the EU" but missed out on a lot more important debate about what was proposed in another leaked call. That, and more, is covered in this video which I came across this morning from Storm Clouds Gathering. It shows that the US think Klitschko is too stupid to have a deputy prime-minister role, while the Svoboda fascist, anti-semitic and xenophobic godfather, Oleh Tyannybok, has also got to keep a low profile according to Nuland, the voice of America, whereas Arseniy Yatsenyuk, whose charity pages are no longer available on the web, can be the front man of the new fascist Ukraine. The analysis is spot on.
People have got to start asking themselves why they have not seen any of this on mainstream television or in the press. The truth is the media, including the press, are owned by Neocon/Zionists who have an agenda. You may think you are getting balanced news but you're not. If you care for future generations and planet earth the time has come to wake up and take action. Spread the word.
